So here I am, watching television on a Thursday evening, and I see a commercial for the new McDonalds Chipotle BBQ Snack Wrap. I start to wonder…where has my fun-loving, makeup wearing, yellow friend gone? Then I remembered that Jacob was at home. Nah, I’m just pulling your chain, Jacob doesn’t always wear makeup.
Anyways, I remember being a child, going to McDonalds and seeing his face everywhere. I remember his big red smile, the funny yellow suit that made him look overweight, the afro of red hair, the red shoes that were just way too big for him…oh, what a hoot those shoes were. I have no idea where this fashionable icon has gone.
I even remember going to a birthday party at McDonalds and HE WAS THERE! I know, crazy, right? Ronald McDonald was at MY friend’s birthday. It was crazy. Sure, all the kids were afraid of him, but c’mon, it was Ronald McDonald.
Oh Ronald, where have you gone? You don’t come to my friend’s birthday party anymore…I never see you in the parades…where have you gone? Is all we have to remember you by a charity house? The “Ronald McDonald House”? Are we supposed to remember your colorful outfit just by a charity? I want to see you Ronald, I want to know where you are hiding. I miss you.
Some interesting facts I found on Ronald…so in Thailand Ronald is portrayed with his hands together like he is praying…oh those crazy Asians…
Something else interesting…in Japan, Ronald McDonald is better named “Donald McDonald”…yeah, take a guess why…the “R” in Ronald is too difficult for Japanese people to pronounce. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
